Installation/Intervention | 2 Washing Machine Cylinders, Plants and Flowers | Pilis, Lithuania | 2015
The project was developed during a residency program in Pilis, Lithuania. Sheer nature of the place and high regard of its inhabitants for plants, flowers and beauty are created an aesthetically pleasing environment. Displaced Allegory takes this rural narration and places it in a false location. Two washing machine cylinders are transformed into extensive flowerpots and are placed into basketball hoops. Hence the game is intervened by aesthetics. Displaced Allegory calls into question implications such as translation, interpretation and belonging in relation to rural and/or urban impressions.
