Self-Portrait was created during a residency program in Havana. The image is formed from three different portraits merged together. There are brief sequences, in which one of the portraits emerges into the foreground.

During my stay in Havana, due to my appearance’s similarities with the local people, there were many incidents, in which I was addressed and called as a Latin Americans. Coming from a country and a culture far away from Latin America, yet feeling a strong connection to the Cubans by drawing parallels between my personal sentiments and experiences on Iran’s revolution and post-war era, inspired this video. Self-Portrait researches identity and its connection to deceptive viewpoint of a Portrait -feature-.
